Linlithgow is a historic Royal Burgh located in the central lowlands of Scotland - about 20 miles from Edinburgh and under an hour from Glasgow by train or car.

It was the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and the preserved ruins of the Royal Palace can be visited in a picturesque setting next to Linlithgow Loch.

The town has many other attractions and facilities for visitors.

There's still lots to do in the winter months - Linlithgow Palace & St Michael's Church are open and many organisations are running events that are listed in the Diary.   Linlithgow Film Society has a programme running throughout the winter.  You can try the Climbing Wall at Lowport Centre and lots of other Sport & Leisure activities.

You can improve your golfing skills at Kingsfield Golf Centre.  Although the public canal cruising season has ended, you can still charter St Magdalene and you can view the Linlithgow Canal Centre Webcam right now!  Walk the Linlithgow Heritage Trail to see many places of architectural and historical interest.   Download the latest events guide.
